Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest Arkansas...
Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma
National Weather Service Shreveport LA
617 AM CST Tue Feb 20 2018
.DISCUSSION...
A strong upper level low pressure system, along with a slow moving frontal boundary, will bring
excessive amounts of rain back into the area this evening, becoming widepread for most of the region
late tonight through Wednesday and Wednesday night. In the meantime, scattered showers and thunderstorms
develop, mainly across southwest Arkansas, southeast Oklahoma, and portions of northeast Texas north
of interstate 20. South winds of 10 to 15 mph will increase to 15 to 25 mph across the area by afternoon through
at least the early evening. Additional rain and thunderstorms possible Thursday into the early weekend as
the frontal boundary backs up as a warm front across the area.
